Flow, is a large ceramic wall sculpture built slowly by hand, one element at a time.
The work started from repetition — a simple gesture repeated hundreds of times until the individual pieces began to move together and form something larger.
I was interested in the way movement can emerge from something solid. Depending on the light and the distance from which it is seen, the surface shifts between texture, rhythm and landscape.
The irregularities and traces of the hand remain visible throughout the piece. For me, they are an essential part of the work — a record of the time and process behind it.
Flow , is part of Gathered Elements, an ongoing series exploring how individual elements can come together to create a new form and presence.
